On tonight’s shitpost hour: should I take the bus to uni tomorrow?

Kinja'd!!!

Benefits of the bus:

1. Substantially cheaper

2. I get to look down at lesser motorists as the bus cuts them off

3. I can listen to NPR and read the news at the same time

4. Way better for the environment and for congestion

Drawbacks:

1. Substantially longer ride

2. Much less comfortable

3. Inflexible timetables

4. Louder

5. Is that dude falling asleep on my shoulder?

Kinja'd!!!

Benefits of the car:

1. I can have my butt cooled/heated

2. I can leave whenever I want

3. I can accelerate past 50km/h

4. I can sing along to Cage The Elephant without anyone judging me

Drawbacks:

1. Parking

2. Fuel/toll/parking cost

3. Having to deal with busses

Is there an NPR affiliate in Mexico? If not, which station do you tune into for your coverage? My local NPR affiliate has a Mexico bureau headed by a a guy from Monterrey, named Rodrigo Cervantes. Solid reporter.

on the NPRone app I use the DC station, but I usually listen to the politics podcast on the default podcast app for iPhones. I use NPR to get up to date with US news, so I don’t mind if all of the correspondents work around DC for the Politics podcast.

For Mexico I read Animal Politico, but Karla Zabludovsky is on my radar; she seems like a great journalist and her reports written in  english on Buzzfeed News.

Every time I think I might take public transportation, I end up driving then hearing on the news about a stabbing on the Tri-Met bus or the Max Rail. I haven't heard of anyone being stabbed in my car yet, so I'll just stick with that.
