One of my former coworkers worked a as technician at Lada dealership in early 80's. At some point they were prohibited from using tire mounting lubricant as this was a common problem with their wheels . I don’t know if the problem was caused by the Soviet wheel or tire standards but I’m guessing that it was the tires’ fault .

One of the guys at work would use wheel bearing grease to mount tires because “muh daddy taught me this way an’ this is how I’ve always done it”
If he still worked there I’d have this to show him that he’s full of shit and that the tire can too spin on the rim you mouth breathing imbecile stop using grease on the beads
