Loa ded, but it’s not a GIF. Kinja likes to turn GIFs into MP4s sometimes , and that’s probably what happened here. I don’t think you can upload MP4s yet, though. Weird.

Yep, kinja converts it into a bunch of formats:
The gif link seems to be broken though. It would probably be badly compressed anyway, last I checked their image host recompressed gifs without any regard to whether the new gif was actually smaller than the original.

I’ve seen MP4s in Kinja comments before. Here’s one that I caught a few months ago, but it seems to have reverted back into a GIF since then . Strange.

Nah, it’s pretty normal for cats to get HUGE pupils when they’re focused on something. You can see its eyes moving as well as its head to track the toy, so it appears to using its vision, and not just hearing, to do so.
