No joke - had to go downtown for an interview this morning and scored this parking space - walls on either side so no one can bang my doors (parking garages in the city have narrow spaces, and are usually sloped, leading to lots of door dents).

I posted about it like 4 times consecutively the day I bought it (late May) , because Kinja, but admittedly not much since. The car has been quietly going about its business, in a good way.

There’s a guy on here whose name escapes me... but I met it at an oppo meet. He has a E550 hardtop. That was one fast motherfucker (the car, I mean. The owner was nice and was not a motherfucker).

Hmm, I don’t know who that is - there are a handful of people around here (notably Fintail out your way) that have the same generation E-class as mine, but not aware of anyone who currently has an E550 (there are a couple people who used to have one).

Yes, it’s really quick - quickest car I’ve ever owned, and it’s not close.

At first look, that looks like plush carpet around the space at windows line height.  Wouldn’t that be fantastic?

Ha - more likely that it’s asbestos that was sprayed onto the beams, actually.

There was enough room for the car that those beams weren’t really a factor, but padded carpet would have been awesome!

It was bad cell service outside of Detroit, actually - kept hitting ‘post to Oppo’ and it would go dead - for 5+ minutes each time. Then it would say ‘unable to post’.

But apparently it was able, but didn’t feel like telling me.
