This GT-R was parked in front of my gym last night. It was very nice and shiny. It also has what is probably a front tow hook license plate mount with the plate positioned vertically. If this person was there for a workout, it was presumably a short one since this is a 30 minute parking space.

I wonder how police in those states feel about us rear-plate-only interlopers. When they see us coming, do they check once we’ve passed to see whether we’re law-breakers or just visitors? Must be annoying regardless.

Honestly I think he just made it worse. The usual off-center front license plate fitment isn’t THAT bad

Here in the DC area I usually see cars with tow hook mounted plates like this (although mounted the normal horizontal way) and every once in a while you see someone going old school with the front plate jammed on the inside of their windshield. I, however, am fully front-plate-less. So far no issues.

Probably just picking up some awards for Most Brolific Broseph and then ordering some custom kitchen cabinets.
/I love strip malls and study them with a ferocious curiosity

What’s the penalty if caught?

This particular strip mall is fantastic. In addition to my gym, it also contains:
Food Lion supermarket
Dunkin Donuts
Chipotle
Starbucks
Mission BBQ (military/MURRICA themed BBQ)
Niwano Hana (local Japanese place that’s been around forever)
Jersey Mike’s Subs
Habit Burger
Wingstop
Paisano’s Pizza
Ki No Spoon (Asian dessert & snack place)
Sweetfrog frozen yogurt
Halal Guys
There are also dedicated stores for hockey, tennis, swimming, and soccer, plus a karate class place, a chiropractor, a physical therapist, and a Jenny Craig.
But for me it’s basically going to the gym and occasionally (i.e. when there’s no food ready to grub on at home after a late night workout) picking up a falafel at Halal guys or a tofu burrito at Chipotle.
Oh and we take our cats to the vet there.

My office is in Virginia (and this GT-R is registered there despite being parked at my gym in Maryland) and the law requires a front plate, but it doesn’t specify a penalty.
I live i n Maryland, and my car is registered there. Maryland has a mini-loophole where if the car wasn’t made with a built-in front plate holder, you can keep the plate somewhere inside the vehicle and show it to a cop if requested.
I bought my car used, and it had a front plate bracket drilled into the bumper, which I then filled with paint-matched plugs that blend in with my parking sensors. So if I really wanted to comply, I could keep my front plate in my trunk, and show it to cops if requested. But it’s on a shelf in my garage.

That’s pretty packed! Nice selection, too. The only really unique place I miss about visiting DC/Baltimore regularly is H Mart, the big Korean grocery store. I mean, lots of places have Asian grocery, but rarely are they full-sized supermarkets.

I like that mix. I can get skates sharpened, get the dog’s medicine, workout, then undo it with some ice cream and burgers.

In my particular neck of the woods there’s Great Wall Supermarket, New York Mart, Lotte Plaza Market, H Mart, and Korean Korner.

Enough to be annoying, but probably not much of a disincentive to most.

yeah, ive noticed most people in illinois with cars that dont necessarily work with front plates just keep it in the windshield or use the towhook bracket

I had Halal Guys in NYC. That stuff is good.

There’s another f alafel and s hawarma joint near me called O h M ama Gril that I think is better because they have all kinds of different veggie fixings while the selection of those things at Halal Guys is somewhat li mited . But it’s kinda ratty, and unlike Halal Guys , it’s not in the same strip mall as my gym and open till 11 pm.

The one I ate at was a food cart; I think their product might have more of a competitive advantage in that market.

Since my gym is in Rockville, this GT-R could certainly be a Virginia resident that works in Maryland.
In other weird news I made it home from Tyson's to Rockville in only like 45 mins today.
