Got the tape deck in the RX7 working.

Sounds good (for a tape; admittedly the first cassette I’ve listened to in many years but it’s not nearly as bad as I expected/remembered).

Time to go buy more tapes.

I’ve got some Billy Idol cassettes that would fit nicely in there.  Get one of those “cleaning” tapes and run it through there to clean the heads.

I cleaned the heads, rollers, pins, etc. manually while it was apart, so it’s good to go inside (had to replace the belt).

I have the EQ set to make the radio sound good, I bypass it for the tape and it’s spot on. Clarion/Mazda did a good job with this system .
