I’ve used zip ties to hold up a muffler temporarily. I also use zip ties to hold up the belly pan on my wife’s beetle. The previous owner screwed up the threads in most of the holes so bolting it in place isn’t really an option anymore.

Brake lines to struts.
Don’t worry, I used two in an X pattern for maximum securement.
Held for 40k miles no problems.

My best friend once used large zip ties to install a radiator in a pickup. The donor radiator from the junkyard was the right size, with the hose connections
in the right locations, but the mounting tabs didn’t line up. He improvised, and it became a permanent fix.

Broke a retaining clip on my truck’s IAC connector. Nothing was holding it in place anymore except for the tension of the pins and the weather seal. So instead of replacing the connector, I managed to wrap a zip tie around the base of the IAC, with another one wrapped around the connector, right between the wires. Works like a charm.
