So my windscreen wipers developed a strange problem last night. Every few wipe cycles or so, they will pop back up about an inch or so, and sit there regardless of how wet the windscreen gets. I can then reactivate them by pushing down on the stalk (mist), and they then work fine for a few wipes until they pop back up and give up again.   This only happens on rainsensing/intermittent mode;  they work perfectly fine on the low and high settings. Has anyone experienced this before, or even heard of this happening? I can’t find anything about it on any forums online and there’s no mention of this in the service manual.

Dads old 550i used to do that. Think that’s pretty common
