Looks like one of the plastic brackets that locates the radiator snapped and let one of the coolant hoses hang against the AC pulley, which ground a big stonking hole in it.

Shitty reason to cook a motor. Have you given it a test run today to see if it’s a giant tailpipe vape?

I think I’m out of danger. Had to start it to put it on ramps and it sounded fine. No smoke out the back. When I parked it last night though t here was some coming from the oil cap so I’m going to do a full oil/filter change and send the old stuff for analysis.

My first thought when I saw where the leak was last night was that my brand new coolant tank had failed and I was so pissed. As it is, this hose is just a $20 part and won’t be too much trouble to put in.

Does anyone make upgraded rad brackets for that bad boy, by any chance?

It’s a bit more complicated than that. Imagine an “insert tab into slot” hangar, except there’s like a dozen or more all around the perimeter of the radiator shroud, but everything is plastic and warped from age so you can never get more than like half of the tabs to line up at once.

Oh, that sounds like a lot of fun. Ugh.
