Reminds me of a story, possibly apocryphal, that the U.S. State Department bought some consumer Hummers (probably H2) and tried to armor them for use in dangerous countries. The Hummers were so f e eble that the armor effec tively made them unusable, so they gave them to some other agency.
Pretty sad.

the 96 Grand Cherokee I had was the worst car I ever owned...and I’ve had something like 40/50 cars. It was always broken.
