Si nce I suggested a Honda Fit to our cyclist friend , I asked my self “Self, what typ e of Fit would you buy”
Aegean Blue Fit Sp ort with 6sp manual and Honda Factory performance package. Along with the requisite accessories like cargo tray, seat back protector and LED fog lights . All for the tidy su m of $20.7K. Seems like a decent deal to me.
Unlike Mr. Horse, Yes sir I do like it.

If I had to replace my current car, a Honda Fit would be very high on the list. I like the prior generations looks over the current one though, as it isn’t as busy as the new ones.

Agreed on the prior gen looks.

The fact that 'a Spoon Fit' was not among the answer(s), saddens me a bit..

I seriously considered just buying a pitcher Fit as my car because I like my wife’s a lot. I’m glad I didn’t, but then again I’d go a lot farther on 30 bucks worth of gas in the Fit.

They’re good cars and mechanically very solid. Mine’s a 2011 with nearly 70k miles. With getting the oil changed every 4500 miles, and replacing wear parts as they wear out, I’ve perhaps spent $2000 on maintenance in 7+ years. Find yourself a good mechanic (or do it yourself) who will only fix the stuff that needs fixing and it will cost next to nothing to operate. Otherwise, the Honda dealership will try to replace everything every 30k, for no reason at all .

that seems like a lotta coin for a tiny vehicle

...that I’ve never used. What do you use it for even? It’s not my kid car, so it’s not for coloring books.
On the other hand, with the seats folded down, it basically moved everything to my current house but the actual large furniture. And I regularly use it as my pickup truck.

Yeah ... for that much I’d get a Civic hatchback and blindfold myself when getting into and out of the car

It looks small but it’s nigh-on perfectly packaged. Comfortably seats five, with rear-seat legroom on par with an E-Class Mercedes. You can fold the back and passenger seats flat and haul a lot.
Also, because it’s only 2500 lbs, it can haul ass at autocross too. (I’ve autocrossed my ‘15 CVT Fit repeatedly and can confirm)

I’d have used it for car camping. I almost bought a Gen 2 Fit instead of my Mazda3. I’m almost regretting it now, lots of brake/wheel noise and cv axle is clicking...

i know its not equally optioned, but doesn’ t the new Ranger start at $23k or something ?

I’m a bit too tall to use it that way, but the thought has definitely crossed my mind.

I’ve been occasionally driving a 2015 Fit, and I’m convinced it’s got the potential to be the perfect all-round vehicle.
Small footprint, easy to park
TONS of space inside (with actual rear legroom)
The CVT is actually really good ! Move the shifter past ‘D’ to ‘S’ to engage sport shifting and the paddles respond instantly. I swear it’s on par with DCTs in terms of avoiding shift lag. Leaves conventional automatics far behind in manual mode.
That said, get the 6MT
2500 lbs unladen, and you can fold down the seats to drop the center of mass really low
Massively fun to drive. Autocross is a blast even with the CVT and all-seasons.
It’s a seriously great car. Could use more torque, but that’s about it. If I only could have one “reasonable” car, this would Fit.

6 even, but I wouldn’t be car-camping solo... It’d work if it was just me. For two, it would be a bit tight I think.

The Fit’s cavernous interior space laughs at the puny Civic “hatch”

I saw a new of those with the sport package in the new yellow on Tuesday - it was a good looking little rig. I don’t quite fit, and I wish the brakes were better, but still a nice ride.

Holy balls on a stick. Apparently my estimates were way off. Do the rear seats on the civic fold flat too?

As the owner of one, the only thing I would add is a proper armrest and 50 more HP and torques. The car is frugal, well built, refined, practical and a hoot to drive with the manual.
