XLT with the Sport package and 302 option package. Caveat: I am not a “truck guy”, so don’t flame me. I just wanted to configure a cool “outdoorsy lifestyle utility vehicle” as Ford markets it .
Link to configurator if you want to build your own:
https://shop.ford.com/build/ranger/#/select/
I’ve never owned a truck and I wont use it for “work-work”, or tow, or take it offroading so no base model, no FX4 Offroad package, but I added 4x4. I added all the comfort features instead except navigation. I thought about the supercrew instead of the supercab as configured but I didn’t like the way it looked.
Edit: added FP article link

Looks legit. I s it a no cost option tho?

Nah, I didn’t opt for the rear seat delete, and I added the sliding rear window.

I built pretty much the same thing except for the SuperCrew.
I’ve never owned a truck either, but I am seriously considering one because as you put it, I would like a
“outdoorsy lifestyle utility vehicle”.
I mountain bike, camp, and hunt regularly, and my 2015 Mazda3 does a good enough job, but a truck would make life so much easier. I’ve also started a side hustle of furniture restoration and rough cutting lumber with an Alaska mill, so even though I wouldn’t be using it for heavy duty work, it would be performing a work task my Mazda3 or any SUV
cannot
handle.

I wasn’t sure if I wanted 2WD
Or 4WD
But this is what I’d get.
XL with STX appearance pack, 3.73 locker, sliding window, floor mats, and SYNC radio.

I think that just redirects you to Toyota.com

I went with similar options, but with carpet delete.

That’s basically how I configured it, same color and model, except I included the locking rear diff, tow package and splash guards. A bit over $26K, which I figure is reasonable for a good, basic truck.

my buddy has a Tacoma with a manual, i think the catch is that you can only get the 4 cyl

I pimped mine out with everything and it was just shy of $45k. With all the discounts, incentives, and dealer wiggle room, it’ll probably be about $37k-40k, depending on the time of year.
They really need to Raptorify this and give it a manual, though. One locker is not enough.
I was also torn on the cab. I prefer the extended cab (or even shorter) , but it would need to baby, so I ended up with the crew cab.

I just went to the F150 builder instead. T he 27k ranger I built isnt quite the same as the 31k F-150. I dont think e ither of my builds would be on the lot so i dont think the “trucks go way under MSRP” would theoretically apply.
i wish chevy would release the 2019 silverado builder

nope. You can get the 6 speed manual on the 3.5 in any trim.

If[when] they raptor it I hope they don’t do a front locker, I hope they do a front torsen option though.

I picked up the splash guards and locking diff too. Didn’t opt for the tow package, I can add that stuff later on and not finance it. Same with spray in bedliner.

Only in USA, Canada has much less choice.

Do you want to swap one of your petrols for one of our manual diesels?
or there is the 200ps 3.2TDCi manual.
![]() 08/14/2018 at 14:57 |

i’ll keep the petrol but take the manual

I also got the 101A package for the power mirrors and the tow package.

Meh, good choice I guess.
In the U.K. they are all diesels but mostly manuals with the exception of the limited editions which are mostly autos.
Very sad.

Black with no options except 4x4.

I built mine as close as possible to my 2018 F-150 XLT sport super crew, hot pepper red with equipment package 301a, towing package, keyless entry, remote start, running boards. MSRP was about 12k less than nine , but about 1000 more than what i actually paid

I was originally planning on getting one of these when they come out (blue XLT supercab 4x4 with Sync 3) but the more I think about it, my current Ranger only has a bit over 100,000 miles on it. I’m thinking I’ll run it for another year or two and get the BEV when it comes out.

Hot take: I don’t like the way the extended cab Ranger looks. It looks much more natural as a quad cab. Same goes for the Colorado and the Taco .
I also wish the Wildtrak was coming here, although you can get pretty close.
