How much vaping occurs during a normal video of theirs?

Guys drive capable reliable cars across the country?

None. Are you shocked?

They are very reliable in the sense that something breaks once every 2 days without fail.

its refreshing to see a people just taking off and doing this without a year of planning and 2000 lbs of gear.

Although they are carrying 15 years worth of belts..

Yes, and number 7 on the list blew my mind!

22 mpg? oh boo hoo.

Well, if they did this in any of the Landy-C variants, all they would be able to film for drama is local gas prices in every zip code they visit.
Otherwise, what ever breaks on an LC? Nothing. So all they’d have to film is them arriving at their destination.

oh you can still fabricate drama on even the most well prepared, reliable and equipped vehicles. Some people even make a living doing that.

Just seeing the outlines of those vehicles in your link, I can tell they would never have any issues with them making it wherever they were going.
So, I’m guessing they had to find the most obnoxious ‘talent’ they could in order to make the journey seem more ‘interesting’? Did I miss anything?

These guys are the talent, but their content is overly produced artificial drama. They go to interesting places, but at 80+k per 4runner (40k in truck 40k in gear) plus big travel budgets plus sticking to mostly low risk situations yields content that is...underwhelming . The channel is mostly about appeasing sponsors and selling an expensive version of a lifestyle. That being said, it can inspire.

This makes me want to do the “every national park” trip in a BRZ...

I’m surprised the STI
Forester isn’t worse than that. I’m in that ballpark with the Outback

That’s about what I got with my fxt

I cringed watching him under the car without jack stands.
How much crap did they bring with them that they both need rooftop cargo carriers? It’s not like these cars have no storage.
The spare brakes are just weird. Either a complete waste of time/space or they knew their brakes were bad and plan to have to fix them on the side of the road in a staged breakdown.

Every National Park would be a great trip indeed. Although me being pratical I would probably choose something with heated and cooled and massaging seats and a heated steering wheel.

That’s kinda the point of using the BRZ though. It’s not a road trip car. The trunk is small, the ride is hard, the road noise is significant, the ground clearance is low, etc. Basically it’s the last car you’d choose to live out of for a month. Something like my Outback would be the obvious choice, but there’s no story there. I took it on a 9,000 mile coast-to-coast-and-back road trip a few years ago and it did it as easy as it goes to the corner store (aside from taking a rock to the windshield in Idaho).

These guys are not professionals and they do work things out as the trip goes along and I think that makes it interesting. B ut I don’t think they’re the kind of Youtubers who create fake drama “ for the viyooz”
The brakes were strange I felt as well, I mean wouldnt you get them checked and fixed before a 10000 mile roadtrip? They must have been offered by Autozone and maybe they’re on the way out anyway so must have decided to take them along.
