They are okay vehicles but I just wish the Atlas found its way into something more fitting for it’s truckly nature.

What year model is that?

I’m a big fan of the LL8 engine. T here’s one ‘08 in my garage waiting for my project to continue. I was drawing rough versions for it’s new exhaust manifold. All runners lengths are within 1 mm from each others but the turbocharger position is a rough guess . I can’t continue much more before I can place the engine in the engine compartment.

These are tough to find in good shape. I've shopped them a bit for a family car/wife car. They're all pretty used up.

I think the impression that the 2006+ year GM products were junk is undeserved. Look at any of the new launches of that era and they are attactive, good cars. These are the years where Bob Lutz’s influence was on display. Gone were the “melted playsc hool” dashboards of the early 2000's and in their place were quality materials having attractive tasteful design.

I have a 2007 Chevy Uplander and it is a comfortable, pleasant car to own. I expect your dad’s car is too. Every GM car since then has been cut from that design quality first cloth. If anybody saved GM, it was Bob. F or a good read, get his book car guys vs bean counters and you will understand what I mean .
