Sure one is this banged up Ranger that’s just about as old as me
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
The second one seems kinda fishy to me, and hasn’t been confirmed yet:
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
So clean, recent(-ish), big, and a 4x4 for only $500 more asking price than the Ranger ? Really? Does it have some dark secrets?

That Chevy looks like a pretty good deal... Probably has some mechanical maladies, but parts are cheap and they're easy to work on!

I’d take the Ranger but I’m partial to smaller trucks

Ooh, I’d jump on that Chevy before it’s gone. But not without giving it a good look-over first. Seems awfully cheap for a K model.
And what does it mean for a brake to be “loose”, anyway? Loose/missing caliper bolt? Too much wheel bearing play?

If the 4x4 and A/C actually works, that sounds about right on price for the Chevy. There isn’t much demand for pre-vortec gmt400 trucks.

I love that Ranger.
I’d bet that Chevy has all manner of dash lights on. But it’s an old Chevy, so you can probably ignore them and it’ll run bad forever.

My cousin has what looks to be the twin to the Chevy. I believe he would tell you that the differentials o n the base 1/2 ton model is made of glass and that a replacement is in your future.

It’s a buyer’s market right now. Rejoice, and acquire

Needing some work is almost a bonus for me, as far as this purchase goes

The seller confirmed so I’m headed out to give it as good a look-over as I can shortly.

Gives me something to tinker around with too

Ah, good to know. Based on months of trawling Craigslist, usually $1500 gets you less truck around here.

Is there an easy way to test if the 4x4 works?

Put in the two 4X4 modes and see if center diff locks, the front axle engages and it shifts into low range.
