I have repeatedly documented the behavior of my boss. Growing up with an alcoholic father can lead to serious post t raumatic stress disorder. The fact that the boss sort of looks like my dad, and behaved in the exact same manner as my dad, led to many days where I was on the threshold of a panic attack. I was reliving the many, many days that I experienced the wrath of an abusive alcoholic during my childhood.
Today was my last day. I left about 40 minutes ago, but due to traffic I just got home. This will be my final Classic Soft Trim post. It contains a very light gray inside a JL and the email that I sent to the entire company in the middle of the day.

But who will remind everyone about the wrinkles?!

Your goodbye email was s imple and professional, and given the fact that you sound like you just wanted to get the fuck out of there fast, it was well done . Good luck to you!
Also, that’s a very nice job on the Jeep. I still prefer cloth seats, but those do look appealing.

Yeah. Student teaching is unpaid in my district but it will lead to a good opportunity. I have a side gig doing events for a friend of a friend so that works out OK.

Good luck, if I remember right you are looking for elementary positions?

Yup. I’ll be student teaching in third grade and then I want to get my master’s degree in special education with a focus on gifted and talented children. I’m in a low income school right now and the smart kids are the ones who often don’t get enough attention because so many resources are (rightfully) used to get the kids who are behind up to grade level.

Awesome, and if you are ever curious about private schools I suggest looking up things on this site, its a firm that headhunts for independent schools.

As far as I know, student teaching is unpaid everywhere. But the light is at the end of the tunnel dude!

Are you planning to get a teaching gig, and work on the Masters while teaching? I ask, because it can be harder to find a job if you already have a Masters, because you're more expensive to hire.

Ultimately I’m looking to work in low income schools with gifted kids. These are often the ones who don’t get the attention they need. I’m a believer in the public education system.

I totally get that but I was a long time public school teacher that burned out on class sizes of 30+, state mandated testing nonsense, and admin drama .

I’m 40. I’ve spent lots of time in high stress offices and can handle drama. What I can’t handle are the self-entitled spawn of upper-middle-class white people. I cringe at the thought of a line of Lexus RXs dropping off kids at 745 every morning.
Also as a nonbeliever, I won’t be eligible to teach in over 90% of the private schools anyway. I meant to educate, not indoctrinate.

Yeah. There’s a masters of special education with a focus on gifted and talented kids that I want to enroll in next fall. Of course that all goes out the window if HR 610 passes.

Good luck man. You'll find a place for yourself somewhere.
