First the Rogue Sport was hit and sent to the shop for repairs so I got a Tiguan. Fine. But I got a call today while I’m in the Dominican that the Avalon got hit and I won’t have a press car until next Friday when the GS300 comes. Guess the LS and ISF will get some needed exercise anyways.

Our “gate” at Punta Cana international because it’s t he first time I’ve ever had to use stairs.

I’ve found Europe to be much more air-stair tolerant than the US. Lots of flights board and unload via air-stairs with buses to/from the terminal. I did it twice this summer, plus another flight where we took a bus to another jetway, and climbed up the jetway stairs to reach the plane. Meanwhile I don’t think I’ve used an airstair (except the built-in stairs on some regional airliners) in the US since sometime in the ‘80s.

I have flown approximately one million times in my lifetime, and have only gotten to use the stairs once. At Seatac.

Oh, and they get really uppity if you smoke on the tarmac . Trust me.

I’ve used stairs multiple times at FRA and SEA. Fun times.

GS vs E/A6/5er comparo would be good, seeing as it is the old timer now.

Been a while since I’ve been through there. Think the last time was probably 15 years ago, give or take.

Quit smoking since then though, fwiw. Though 3 or 4 hours in an a irport might be enough to change that.

My sister did 6 months in Europe and was more used to stairs than jetways but first for me.
