Saw this truck on the Ohio Turnpike. Never could figure out what it was hauling but it looked like circus equipment. Translation is “Attention! Vehicle Swings Out!”. Has anyone seen this rig in your area?
A few weeks ago I saw these antiques in traffic. I just hope they didn’t try to run the Interstate. The two cars were almost at the ramp of I-80 in Streetsboro, Ohio.
And now why I haven’t been doing car stuff. I started cycling again. The old road bike and touring/gravel bike are cleaned up so I’ve have been logging some miles instead of doing car stuff. The Gitane is a 1983 I’ve had since the late 80's and it only has a few original parts on it. The crankset is the original Nervar with Stronglight rings. The wheels are Sun Venus 28 spoke bladed 2 cross wheels with “Race use Only” stickers wired to Shimano 105 hubs. They have survived 10+ years of road riding. Thanks to the guys at Sun-Ringle tech support for telling me they would be durable if I laced them crossed instead of radial. Have only had to re-true them once in that entire time.
This Kinesis made Easton 7005 f rame came from the original Bike Nashbar back when it was based in Ohio. I built it up mostly of old parts and clearance sale pieces for under $300 in 2000 when Performance Bike bought Nashbar. I got the frame, seat, spokes and rims at the final Nashbar warehouse sale. Thinking of removing the drop bars and switching it to straight bars with fatter tires. Had to fix a rear flat after I took this picture. I knew I might have a few issues when I dusted off the bikes but luckily I had a spare tube.
There is an exotic car show in September that I’m sure to attend so I’ll be back to posting some automobile stuff this fall.

Nice bikes. I need to get back to riding more frequently, would help if it stopped raining for a few days...

Thanks, I’ve got a few changes and updates to do on both. I had to get back cycling to relieve work stress and drop some weight. Its working. Only need to lose 10 more lbs to be at my goal. Been hitting the gym at least 3-4 times a month too.

When I worked in a Chevy dealership we once had a Captiva come in that had 3 bad door lock latch actuators. Only one of the rear door ones worked. Imagine all the jokes we made about the owner being held captive in his own Captiva.

We have construction in so many places that one day two weeks ago I had to avoid 3 main routes to my work. Two had detours and one minor road was just closed. Its only a 9 mile drive. During the morning drive a month ago there were major repairs in 5 areas . One road has been closed off and on since the spring. It should reopen in October. Its re-opening shortens my commute by 5 minutes or more.
