Has anyone been playing with the new angle kits in Forza? I’m pretty proud of how they turned out. The goal when making them, was to have people be able to jump in and start drifting without too much adjustment. I think we’ve met that goal, and i think the new suspension makes it easier for inexperienced players to pick up drifting. At the same time, i’d like to think its also made drifting more rewarding for the experienced drifter, by adding a ton of ‘capability’ to the cars
.
Anyway, I hope people enjoy them.

I did not know about this. I haven’t hopped on Fm7 or Horizon3 in months. Guess I’ll have to change that

60 degrees of lock is super extreme. Now I’m going to need a wheel/pedal setup.

Yeah, its pretty crazy, though you can dial it back in the tuning menu if you want. It should still be controllable with a controller, but a wheel and pedal setup would work super well and obviously be more fun .

Yeah man! give it a try, if you’re into drifting it definitely changes the game quite a bit. Even if you’re not, it should make drifting a little easier and more fun, without really changing how the game feels.

I think I could just be smoother with a wheel.

Yeah, any of your little adjustments are going to look much less abrupt with a wheel....which is pretty big in drifting if you’re good/a perfectionist.

Not a perfectionist but I do feel limited by having the normal assisted steering setting and not being able to use simulation.

I wouldn’t get too hung up on simulation steering
, in fact i’d recommend staying away from it if you’re using a wheel. My understanding is that its designed for people with controllers who wanted a more 1:1 feel between the car’s front wheels and the left stick.
The game should (and does IMHO) feel pretty realistic with a wheel on normal steering, but sim steering with a wheel makes everything feel twitchy and will cause lots of tank slappers. I wouldn’t say I have a ton of experience drifting in real life, but I do have some and normal steering with a wheel feels far more realistic than sim steering with a wheel. Sim steering was (kind of counter- intuitively ) created with controller users in mind.

I do not have the control to use sim steering. I can do it with fwd cars bu t that's about it.

Yeah, i personally almost never use it. I mean really, there are a ton of ‘ assists’ if you want to think of them that way, because you’re controlling a car with a joystick. there is no “realistic” way of doing that, just a way of doing so that feels relatively natural.
That said, i have had fun with sim steering, but usually only on old muscle cars and the like, with very soft suspension, which gives you more of a warning/window to catch any slides. It does seem to make them feel quite a bit more lively.

The drift suspension almost makes me want to ignore the fact Forza 7 does not have Toyotas, and buy it anyways.

Yeah. It kills me that they aren’t in there. I grew up in a Toyota household and my first car was a Celica all-trac. I was really really bummed when i found out about them.
That said i’m pretty sure we put the Exocet in there recently.

So uh when is Fujimi coming?

I could tell you, but then i’d have to kill you get murdered by Microsoft’s lawyers.
I will say those who make decisions know that its a thing both people inside and outside the company are advocating for.

Yeah, the Exocet is also a good argument to buy the game.

Please. I will buy the game solely for that track.

after playing around with it a bit. Man what a difference it makes my quad rotor Crown Vic actually driftable.

Nice! Yeah it seems to help with kinda the edge cases. The Subaru SVX was my achillies heel before. Now i have no problems.

Glad I got followed by Oppositelock apparently.
But this is fancy timing for me to come across this after we were just discussing it.
Good work!
