Filling your M3 at QuikTrip?! Expect a call from Munich at any moment.

Eh, I usually go to Exxon or Shell. Yesterday I was really low on gas and didn’t feel like paying the extra $0.40/gal at Exxon.

I do also miss having a model specific plate. I wanted to do something for the Rabbit but you’re not allowed to customize collector plates in Wi.
At least that’s a nice looking plate the dark blue is a good look with the Space Grey.

I presume you’ve seen this one on BaT? Not green, and it has the SMG (sadtrombone.wav), but this is stunning (and check out the interior)

I hadn’t. That’s amazing, ruined by the SMG, but that’s fixable. If I had money and a home, I would buy it and then fit a propper 6MT to it.

It already has a 6MT on it technically. From what I’ve read, converting this car to manual is quite simple - add clutch pedal and shifter, you use the same trans.

I thought you also had to swap the trans because of all the hydraulic parts, including t he clutch. You might be able to reuse the box since they are technically the same, but I think the amount of labor involved isn’t worth it.

The stuff I’ve read suggests that really isn’t necessary.

Ah ok, seems like a lot of effort regardless.

Yes, but if the spread between an SMG car and an M/T car is big enough, or you really like a certain (techno violet) unicorn with an SMG, it would be worth it.

No hydraulic changes. Just change the spring in the gearbox for the shifter to stay in gear and return to neutral. There’s a shop in the bay area called PT echnic that specializes and sells kits to do the conversion.
