This is the kind of automotive engineering I appreciate. Usually they do shit like put the oil filter directly above the exhaust manifold, but this I like.

Mine’s super easy as well. But the cabin air filter is kind of a bitch to replace

So, what do you think most dealerships charge for labor for that job?

T his should be how all rectangular filters work. The first gen Toyota Tacoma had a slide-in element, but the cover was still held on by annoying little bolts.

Oh wow.

My Tacoma’s air filter is unreasonably difficult to change. M y gf is way better at replacing it than I am. Luckily I only do it once a year.

That’s just BMW pricing though, right?

Looks almost like they hired someone into PC case mods. Where will it end?

My Volvo filter is right up front. Access couldn’t be easier. E xcept for the two 3" long screws holding it in. It is a dumb design.

this is just silly. I mean the filter is RIGHT THERE, and they still managed to make it take 5 minutes to change (assuming you have done it before and know all the things you have to remove). I have to take the loader off my Zetor Major 80 to change the air filter because the right-side lift cylinder is in the way with the loader mounted and it still takes less time than this. ( I don’t have to fully disconnect all the hydraulics, just rest the main loader frame on its kick-stand and lift the frame  off the brackets with the bucket tilt)

Hyundai/Kia tend to be good about this I think. Look where they stuck the upstream O2 sensor, right on the header.

IIRC you have to take the rear sway bar off to do the rear brakes, though.

That’s pretty slick, but that does make it harder to clean out leaves or whatever larger crap the filter stopped.

That’s nice. This is how I changed the air filter in my 2006 Focus. It only took about a 1/2 hour.

05-07 Focus. Air filter was NON -REPLACEABLE . You were supposed to by a ~$300 air box assembly to replace it, until the aftermarket made a better design with a replaceable filter:
