This crazy table once sold new for $3,000. Picked up it today for a cool $100. It’s 4' x 4' with 3/4" thick glass tabletop with beveled edges. The glass alone weighs 158 lbs o_O ...
My wife interesting taste. It pairs nicely with my unfinished couch and doggo. And it was nice to see her really excited about something. Like a 200-something pound coffee table.

3/4" you say? Well... Now you've got a good place to hide under for the next big earthquake

Glass topped tables are the way to go, no worrying about coasters or burns from hot plates.

Who made this ridiculously expensive table?

I forgot the name. It’s the “ you’ll pay for this shit just so you can say so” type brand. The husband tried to talk her out of it but to no avail. One man’s trash...

So now she likes the long bed when it carries stuff like that?

The seller delivered it to me and helped me get it in. He was so happy to have it gone.

Our furniture was really expensive, but nowhere near that level. I’m ghetto, I’d just buy IKEA because I’m a pro with the allen wrench and their stuff lasts at least a decade for me (some of it will probably last the rest of my life), so I can’t justify paying more than what they’re asking for the solid wood stuff they sell (it’s not cheap, but it’s cheap for the quality). Everything I’ve given away that was from them still had plenty of life left...

Depending on the quality, they can scratch and I don’t know how you remove scratches from a big sheet of glass .
Then again, so can my ridiculously expensive custom table because it’s made out of a soft wood. My wife worries about stuff we put on it but I don’t think she realizes that a kid will probably best the hell out of it. I can just envision the teeth marks on the corners from a toddler now...

You can use metal cleaner, but results will vary, depending on thickness of the scratch and if there’s some sort of film or finish on the glass.

Ooooo. Lot s of hard, pointy corners which are perfect for splitting skulls! Both of our kids had bad run-ins with the coffee table when they were little. Fortunately, it was made of wood and had rounded edges. It was the snow globe on top of the dresser that sent my daughter to the hospital for stitches. She decided she wanted it, but didn’t realize that it was too heavy to handle. Boop on the forehead went the pretty snow globe!

Perfect for chokeslamming an intruder into during a dramatic fight.

My brother ran into the corner of the wall and split his head open. Sometimes you can’t stop kids from being dumb.
