The roll-down rear windshield is the greatest invention of all mankind.

It would be extra nice if it rolled back up..

Those of us of a certain age remember when all tailgate windows rolled down and what a PITA it was when they didn’t.

Nope! T his is the shit! I ignored it for over a year, but it grows on me. So practical for smaller stuff!

I don’t understand how every pickup doesn’t have this. SUVs/CUVs/Wagons/Hatchbacks it can at least be hard to do if the glass is too curved, but pickups all just have a flat piece of glass with nothing underneath it.

It really doesn’t as long as the front windows are down.

I approve of the VT sticker on the window.

In the third gen it’s great. In the second gen, when it breaks, you lose access to the hatch area from the back.

It is a good reason to get a 4Runner/Surf

I absolutely love these whales. I’d probably burn up the rear gate motor playing with it the first day I had it.

And they do it in their pickups too! I can’t understand why everyone doesn’t. I have a GMC, and it has an electric horizontal sliding center section in the rear glass. NOT GOOD ENOUGH!

YES! I paid $5 a day to upgrade my rental car this week from the Ford Edge I got on special for $40 to a 4Runner. I am in love with the back window. Driving through rural Indiana with all the windows down was fantastic.
Plus, it is the worl d’s best bug removal device. Bee in car, open both front windows and tailgate window, bee shoots out the back instead of being caught inside the car flying around.

The advantage of the sliding window is that it's usable even when the door is blocked (eg hitch mounted bike rack). And you can roll on the trail with it open, too.

Ha ha! I have to help the window up in my 4th gen...

We had a green ‘73 Custom Cruiser when I was a kid. Many road trips were lived in the cavernous back of that monster. Good times.

I 100% agree and you get a tailgate!
