It’s near me, too. Sure, it’s probably a piece of crap, but it’s a unique piece of crap.
I wish my insurance & bank would hurry up and finish closing out my loan so I can get something.

Definitely a hen’s tooth today.
When I was in high school, I knew a girl who had one, and the car was yellow. It was a new car. Now I feel old.

The only new car I remember anyone having at my high school was a guy that had an Eagle Summit sedan. I think it was a ‘90 or ‘91. I think those might be rarer than the Scoupe now.

See, the joke is a pun on “scoop” but when I saw it on Top Gear, it’s all lost because they say “S- coopay” too literally.

Yep. That annoys me every time I see that clip.
Also, they give Americans shit for how we pronounce Hyundai, but that’s how they pronounced it in their own ads when they first came here.

The Brits have the worst history of pronouncing/altering foreign words, so I’ma take it with a grain of salt.

That ad is putting me to sleep...

Yeah, can’t recall when I last saw a Summit, or its Colt twin. I think I see the prior gen more.
New cars I recall are a girl with a new ~93 Civic hatch , and a guy with a Toyota 4x4. There were also a few later model cars. I wasn’t in a particularly affluent area, and simply having a car, any car, was awesome (I switched between a 66 Galaxie and 85 Tempo).

All of those early Hyundai ads used the same music, too.

+1 street cred for piloting a tempo during highsch ool . (A 92 2 door 5 speed was my 1st car)

I came very close to getting a used 5-speed Tempo coupe right after high school. I ended up getting an automatic CRX DX from the same dealer because it was cheaper.

I see it is an art car. Too bad they didn’t post a better picture of that rear window tint job.

I saw one of these on the road the other day, I totally forgot about them. I was impressed it was still running, since.. well... you know.. early 90s Hyundai.
First thing I did when I got to work was go straight to CarDomain to enjoy these in all their glory.

My exact comment when I first saw that clip!

I’ll give them a bit of a pass because those sounds/letters all transliterate pretty well into Japanese.

Wait that’s not a Dodge Sh adow

Ohhh man you missed out (not really):) I had 2 tempo coupes a 92 red and a 94 black. Both were dirt cheap kinda awful but I admit I did love them.

The CRX wasn’t much better. I mean it was fine, but mine only had like 84 hp and the automatic siphoned off a bunch of them. It was still flingable on twisty roads , though. And cute.

Tempo 4cyl had 96hp. The 5 speed certainly helped.

I really liked the one I test drove, and it was really low miles and in like-new condition. I was legit sad that I couldn’t get it.

I bought mine at a dealer’s auction (thanks grandpa) it was a 92 with 62k miles in really goo d condition for $400.00 it was a steal. This was in 1998 so 6 years old with about 10k a year usage.

Because of that car (which was in the family for ages, made it to 190K before my mom finally let it go), I have a soft spot for Tempos, especially early ones.
Ours was a fairly loaded GLX sedan in “medium regatta blue metallic” with matching interior. I remember a guy a grade lower than me, around 1994, got a very basic 85 Tempo L sedan with a 5 speed and vinyl interior, he was shocked at the GLX, which I guess is comparatively rare.
I beat on that car a bit - revving it up and dropping it into gear, “jumping” it, etc, it kept going. It was always maintained and kept clean.

Hyundai like “Sunday” was actually an ad campaign that my dealership ran a long time ago.

Buy it buy it buy it buy it
Sorta sporty compact coupes are (one of) my (many) weakness(es).

I got around ten bucks in nickels, dimes, and quarters. Should I contact him? OMG HE MIGHT NOT KNOW WHAT HE HAS AND BE OK WITH LOWBALLING

I'll throw in a few paperclips and rubber bands. Should be a tantalizing enough offer for anyone.

I have six cans of lemonade we bought by accident that I could add too. Oh, and a Dirt Devil vacuum that doesn’t work all that well.

Woah now don’t wanna go all in right away. See if he bites on the lower bid first.
