The “Holy shit” part was a bit comical, but seeing people suffering with the disorder is sad to me. Knowing that even when they realize the senselessness of it all, they’re powerless to fight the compulsions, it  makes me feel for them. Must be a potentially sad, lonely life, riddled with stares and snide remarks throughout. My wife works in the mental health sector, so I hear the stories more often than most.

It did seem to be in remarkable condition for a car of its age in, what I presume is, salt country.

But for an El Camino? Come on.

Makes no sense to us. Probably makes no sense to him either. He just knows he needs to perform those rituals or he’ll be completely consumed with anxiety.

Funny on the surface from afar, perhaps, but the Camino is probably just one of many, many triggers for him. Simple things we take for granted like switching on a light,  opening a door, using a washroom, can all be seriously anxiety inducing for folks with ocd. I can barely imagine.

At least there can’t be that many El Caminos still on the road. I’m morbidly curious how specific the c riteria is. Is it all El C aminos, certain model years, or utes in general.

I thought that they did a follow-up and helped him get over it.

Could be, I was just going off of the clip above. Medication and treatment certainly can help though, although they're unlikely to be quick or complete fixes for someone with such an imbalance.

What about GMC Caballeros? Ford Rancheros?

No, fixing that would not be quick or easy in any way. It was on Obsessed and I don’t think I’ve ever watched the full segment.
