Ugh.

Everyone at work found out about the Sun bird and they’re all giving me shit for it. Telling me that it’s a waste of money and that I need to put the money from the truck into my 6 instead, blah blah blah.

Why do people feel like they can tell others how to live their lives?

I have a hobby. It is a weird hobby, yes. But it isn’t bankrupting or endangering my family, so what’s the big deal? Plus, my wife and I talked it over and she’s fine with it.

People drive me nuts.

People don’t understand cars as a hobby especially if it’s not a muscle car or something fancy. I had similar experiences with the Galant VR-4. Because it was an unassuming little black ecobox most people couldn’t understand why I poured money and time into it, or why it made me happy.

Strangely tho people seem to be more understanding win the Rabbit, I guess just because it’s cuter. Lol

yeah - total BS. “Thank you for your opinion - moving on”. I always kinda liked the old z24 Cavaliers with that growly v6. Sure, not sophisticated but still fun.

And I just realized that model Sunbird still has the P ontiac twin grill under the bumper - never noticed that before.

Could work. Dunno about the 3800 but this gen Cavalier (same platform) was  able to fit a V6 in it.

Meh. I always remember if I get the damn thing and work on it a while and just hate it, I can always sell it. Insurance and registration will be next to nothing. Same with parts .

And unsolicited advice- when it does occur- gets met with a curt “ i didn’t ask your opinion .” And if they keep flapping their gums after that they get silence in return.

In all seriousness, it may fit. We measured out the engine bay in my old car when we were toying with a rwd conversion. I had enough space to fit a 426 Hemi in there, all I had to do was swap the radiator to the front of the header panel.
