The point where Michael Keaton’s character realizes Peter is Spider-Man is probably one of the 5 best moments in the Marvel movies. Keaton turns on the whole dangerous crazy.

My favorite moment was the part where Spidey helped an old woman with directions.

It was great seeing a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.

Also they were playing "Space Age Love Song" by A Flock of Seagulls at the dance which appeals to me and probably only me.

I thought they were going to do some really stupid twist, then that happened; it was genuinely surprising, at least to me. Vulture was a great villain, one of the best in the MCU.

They showed the dance scene  and my 8 year old daughter said it is one of her favorite songs. I’ve had that on her playlist forever.

Birdman would eat Spiderman

Best villains in the MCU is a surprisingly long list. Killmonger, Vulture, Grandmaster, Loki (does he still count?)...ok, maybe not that long.

As would Batman. And Beetlejuice?

I would add Infinity War Thanos and Ego to that list,  but that’s probably about it.

I know that everyone makes fun of batman with his secret identity, but they should be making fun of spider man.

I wouldn’t add Ego. Thanos would make my list if his motivation weren’t quite so absurd, scientifically speaking.

Keaton does so many stupid roles we forget how good of an actor he is.

I wouldn’t have Killmonger on that list. I love Michael B Jordan, but his character bio was typical comic book BS. He’s somehow a technological genius who’s made it through multiple (at least three by my count) programs that require very different kinds of discipline and impulse control, as well as setting himself up in Klaue’s operation, despite apparently no one else being able to make it through Klaue’s vetting procedures, and then once he gets to W akanda every decision we see him make is hopelessly juvenile and poorly thought out. His behaviors display a lack of even basic thought towards the consequences of his actions, but you can’t get through MIT, or the special forces, or the CIA, or into deep cover on a criminal organization without being able to think more than five minutes ahead of your next move.

Keaton’s performance saved the movie from becoming an otherwise very banal movie.

I liked W hiplash too. Ultron was almost good. Helmut Zemo I think was really underrated both in terms of character and in terms of Daniel Br uhl’s performance.

But he’s Batman. Can’t he see the massive amount of  irony here?

Exposing my inner nerd. This franchise needs more post-college Peter Parker and permanently green She-Hulk instead of nä i ve ty and preening adolescence.

Where Hulk was a roid raging national security risk. She-Hulk was...

I think they look at Spidey as filling the gap for younger audiences and slightly less heavy theme song than the rest of the movies.  Somewhere around Ant Man.

I liked Zemo’s performance but his ability to anticipate the heroes’ moves so far in advance reminded me of Ledger’s Joker in a bad way: just too much to swallow.

This role was more Birdman meets Mr. Mom.

I think that’s fair, although I think nearly all of Marvel’s movies have had some pretty substantial hand- wavy elements holding them together.

I’m a little concerned with their casting of Tom Holland, not because I don't think his performance or interpretation of Peter Parker was good, but because he's a 21 year old who looks 16. That's fine for when he's supposed to be 16, but the MCU spans what, a decade, in movie time? What are they going to do when he's supposed to look 26? I actually think Tobey Macguire made that transition as well as nearly anyone could have. He pulled off an awkward teenager reasonably well, but also pulls off a twenty something quite well.
