There aren’t too many other airports left with outdoor gate waiting areas right on the tarmac in my experience. Also someone parked this amazing camouflage 2WD Ural out front.
Update - boarding here never gets old either. (Let’s see if I’m still saying this in the middle of winter...)

My last Aviation History post highlighted the first use of the Jetway. It’s neat to see that some airports still have you walk out on the tarmac (unless it’s raining or snowing) . I remember walking out to climb into 727s and 737s back in the day.

Such a long-ass ramp while the door has stairs built-in... Talk about overkill.

Did you see it in CLT? In my 6 flights there (all CRJs), I’ve gotten a jetway once...otherwise it’s all stairs, gate checked bags, and a temporary trip back in time. Being an av-geek, I didn’t mind. It wasn’t raining or snowing.

GSP (Greenville-Spartanburg Int’l Airport in South Carolina ) h as an outdoor garden area on the aircraft side of the terminal. Supposedly the only one at an “International” airport in the US, I think.

I have no idea why those long ramps are used, but I’ve been on them at several different airports. Maybe for people with limited mobility who can’t use the stairs or a steep ramp?
