I have always been pretty sold on !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! as a display technology, especially since my primary work experience is with cellular phones. This past spring, with the 2018 models imminent, prices on the 2017 models dropped enough for me to feel comfortable with pulling the trigger on one: the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .
As a norm in current times, I broke out the D-SLR to capture this “life event”. However, as a black 2D rectangle when off, I found that there were nothing to photograph. So, I tried to use !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! to show off how thin the panel is . Here are the results.

I recently bought an LG, but i couldn’t justify the price of an OLED. I really wanted to, but I just couldn’t.
Ended up with a pretty standard 65 inch 4k LG.
Side note: LG really needs to up their internal memory. I only added Hulu, Netflix, Amazon, and Spotify, and I'm down to 300mb of data. Can't believe how little memory these things still have.

I have an XBOX one , but my fiance doesn’t like to use it.
I’m debating getting a media remote for it because I think the controller is what throws her off. She has never used a game console and has zero interest in learning.

It is hooked up to my Roku3 that I carried over from the old TV, mostly for convenience as my Plex + YouTube + MLB.tv accounts are already signed in on there.
Yes the Roku3 is actually 1080p, not 4K. However, my main source of TV consumption comes from BBC docs TVrips posted on Torrents, which I grab and then seed on my computer, then Plex to the Roku or the TV. Then, I am limited by my $85/mo CAD internet that is 150/150 but has a 1TB transfer cap. Grabbing 4K rips puts too much strain on everything, so no thanks.
For native 4K then I would use the TV’s own Plex and YouTube apps, otherwise I stay on the Roku.
Finally yeah the price was... the price. I just figured that at sub-$2k CAD it was not going to get much cheaper, so I pulled the trigger. It was around the same time I was doing my exhaust and S/C lid, so yeah I am still pinching pennies now :-P Also that is why it is the 55in, not the 65in....
I am actually more of a computer snob than a TV snob, so if I am ever lucky enough to “retire” this one, I fully intend to move it downstairs and use it as my monitor.

Nothing too special, it is the only lens I have, mounted on the only camera I have, and so I use it for everything: Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM
I guess it is not exactly meant for this kind of work, but I gave it a try and it did okay.
All the pictures you see I post, unless otherwise stated, were from this lens.

So what if your house is particularly breezy and this isn’t set against a wall?

Put this on the TV in full 4K HDR10 and maybe they will be fascinated enough to sit still for a change :-P

The base, where all the main electronics are, is actually pretty hefty:
But yeah, definitely do NOT grab the top when you are manhandling it....
Then, there is the W (Wallpaper) series: https://www.lg.com/ca_en/tvs/lg-OLED77W8PUA-oled-4k-tv

Very similar situation here as well. It’s amazing how hard a youngster can throw a child’s toy.

I bought one of the 2016 editions, 55C6, curved and 3D capable, but an earlier WebOS software version. C7 for 2017 went flat, and, as you show... VERY thin.
Spent more on that TV, even deeply discounted, than I had considered before that point.
Love it every time I watch it... I just need to add some vertical dimension Atmos speakers to my Marantz receiver and NHT 5.1 speakers, to turn it into a 5.2.1 system, and I am good for a while.
I have picked up some new Samsung LED (8000-series, 4K-HDR, but non-QLED) displays for my work, and they are very good looking, but not as good as that OLED panel.

Even a piece of acrylic or polycarbonate might work. Something to take the direct impact and spread it out a bit. Also to act as a sacrificial surface in the event of scratches.

I don't think it'd be too bad. One way to find out, I suppose.
