This AMG GT S that was parked in a not-reserved space in the garage at work today. I saw it from the front and thought it was the usual tacky “luxury rally” car nonsense. Then I walked around back to take another picture and saw #MAKERALLIESGREATAGAIN on the back bumper.

I briefly wondered if maybe the hashtag was taking the piss out of the original version of that slogan, but...

UPDATE: I posted this on facebook and my brother suggested sticking turds in the air intake, while a friend mentioned that you can rent this very car !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! for the low low price of only $325 per day. The description states:

This Mercedes AMG GT-S is a smoking accepted (Tobacco OK, Vape OK, Weed not OK) Exotic Car! Car will smell like Smoke. Do not book if Smoke Smell not ok. Animals OK (but please clean up after them).

My brother lives in the city, doesn’t own a car, and uses Car2Go when he needs a car. Maybe he should pick up a legal weed vape to blow phat clouds into this car.

I knew a guy who had a ‘don’ t tread on me’ flag for a long long time. I don’t think he has it anymore. Seems like the original meaning has been taken over. Maybe I’m wrong.

The Gadsden flag was coopted by the Tea Party back when they were popular. I’m quite confident most people with Virginia Gadsden flag plates are choosing it for political reasons.

I see them very rarely on my side of the river in Maryland or in DC itself. My office is in Tyson’s Corner VA where there are plenty of people commuting from the farther-out Virginia suburbs/exurbs and I see a few of them in the garage at work or out on the road. Nothing approaching 1 in 4 though.

My office building is also home to a large corporate IT vendor in which there are many sales guys who are exactly like how you would expect large corporate IT sales guys to be. This company doesn’t own the reserved spaces where t he Ferraris with Montana plates double park, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this car belonged to someone who works at said IT vendor.

I wouldn’t be surprised. When I lived in Wisconsin, as soon as we got outside of Madison or Milwaukee, it was Trump signs everywhere. The Virginia side of the DC suburbs is thoroughly blue, and places like Richmond or Norfolk/VA Beach/Hampton/etc are kinda purple, but the rest of the state is red. So if you have folks from southern VA heading down to NC, they’re probably not hippies like me.
