Air compressor? uh...I guess they mean A/C compressor?
Also are ANY extended vehicle warranties worth a damn? most people I come into contact with that have tried to use them have found their coverage pretty lacking. “we can’t cover a new engine thats a wear item!”

There are some if you buy an unreliable vehicle with common problems and pay a ton for a warranty that covers everything...
Like Carmax’s Bumper To DougDeBumper Warranty, Chrysler Maxcare, etc

$830 for alterna tor? Wait...
OOHH. An alternator. Yeah, those are pretty pricey. Too bad it isnt a turbo instead, those are pretty cheap I hear.

There’s a sign like that at my credit union to, the one that I get my auto loans though actually. But there’s has a picture of a Toyota Echo. A car that’s I would assume isn’t remarkably cheap to maintain. I like how inflated those repair costs are. They must be grabbing dealership prices with 100/hr labor costs, and basing the, on costs for a 5 year old German car, not the 25-15 year old Japanese cars advertised.

Is it just me or is everyone else adding up the prices here and thinking, “That’s not much to fix everything that could be wrong with the worst used Supra.”.

I have never seen them pay off for anyone except Doug. People just don’t realize it because it’s rolled into a payment and they don’t remeber to add all those deductibles.

I had a MkIV Supra that blew a water pump. Toyota replaced it under factory warranty (this was back in the 90s) . Did you know Toyota used red coolant? I thought the transmission blew up when I saw red fluid everywhere!

Now, I could be wrong, as I don’t know my Supras....but I have a hard time believing a simple factory-style fuel pump would be $975 US for one....?

Supra/2JZ tax can get wild, man.

But a factory fuel pump for $975 USD??? Really?
I mean, my Accent is obviously no Supra, but a simple fuel pump for it is like....$80.
Rockauto says a factory-style ‘98 3.0L Turbo I6 Supra fuel pump is ~$200 USD at the most (excluding shipping), so no idea where that ad is getting some of their numbers from. Even with labour, I can’t think the price for installing one would run to almost $1000, would it? It’s just a drop-in pump AFAIK?

Yeah it’s a bit off. There’s an access panel in the middle of the spare wheel well to the pump/such. Add a 100$ or so due to Toyota OE pump probably and you’re barely halfway there. Just pulled prices out their ass i guess.
