But the burbles it has at low rpm now are wonderful!
A few weeks/months/something back I updated my tune, and with that update came a less aggressive crackle setting. Some of you that have experienced my car in person, namely Daender and some others that went to last years Oppo meet in Nashville, might know that my car had/has the ability to wake the dead. Well it still can, but it’s now less aggressive at low rpms(I can drive downtown now without fear of police interference) . It’s now the angriest sounding stock snail powered 1.6 liter I’ve heard. Maybe I’ll get a sound clip at some point...
It needs a bath.

W e need a sound clip, (even better than a Abarth 500?) Agree - crackle is underrated. A really nice sounding 4 is cool... (Saab turbo, Abarth, older Subies...)

It’s definitely angrier than an Abarth.

How’d they tune in crackle pops? I’m gonna ask my tuner if he can do that!

off-throttle but still pushing a bit of fuel through is my guess. Dad’s volvo when straightpiped did the same for a second or 2 when you let off before the injection box cut fuel.

Stratified says that’s not what they do, but no one can really figure out an y other way.

It can be bad for your cat if you aren’t running a catless dp, that being said my dp is stock. But it’s an option with some tuners.

That is what I miss most about my SVT Focus. The exhaust note of the Zetec R was great if you’re into loud obnoxious exhaust notes.

I miss my old roomie’s c30 with nearly no exhaust. No tune, but it burbled sooooo much.
Was louder IRL.
But I am jelly, I need better noises out of my Miata.

It’s a good-sounding turbo-4 car. Also, I cheaped out on washing the Miata. I just wiped it off with a towel after it got rained on at work. I did take the time to dust off the interior and vacuum the carpet and floor mats!

Starts at 1:50 or so, though it has less crackles and more burbles now.
