Ouch!
The driver came in hot with a group of other racers.
The brakes locked up for one reason or another
, and into the wall the BMW
went.
Bonus 240Z on a flatbed:

Rather the wall than through the fence!
I’m sad that I missed the PVGP, I grew up in Squirrel Hill about a 5 minute bike ride from the track. My parents still live there but I decided to stay in NYC and go to the Formula E race instead.
If you’re still in Pittsburgh on August 4-5 then I’ll be racing at PittRace in the Keystone Speedfest or whatever they call it!

For sure. It was a hard hit, that barrier used to be in line with the other one. The whole car would be a rhombus after that, but it’s a race car so they’ve probably already pulled it straight. Without the concrete there it probably would have ended up inside
of some of the other 2002s parked on the hillside, probably with a couple people under it
.

Or the porta-potty...
This was just a weekend visit for me. I’m in central PA these days, and will be heading east August 4-5 for Das Awkscht Fescht.
