watching the downhill.... having a downhill flashback

got speedwobble at about 40mph  and clipped a stormdrain once... closest ive ever come to human powered flight

it was also roughly right around then that i discovered mountainbikes are vastly different animals than road bikes when it comes to on road downhills :p

but yeah.. i love watching the tour.. the cobblestone stage from a couple days back was especially good.. but im plenty happy to be having the mountains now

People think that mountain biking is dangerous and sure it can be...but road biking?  holy hell man, THATS the way you get messed up if you wreck.

yup... thats where i started... eventually switched to mountainbiking... partially coz road racers are a fanatical hard to live with bunch but mostly coz the peleton is a terrifying stressfull place (also... road rash)

switched to mountainbiking where the riders are happy go lucky nutcases and the ground is softer (unless its rocky or made of tree)

mountain biking > road biking. I mean I loved doing triathalons and there are parts of road biking that are very satisfying but cmon!

I make a point of watching as much as I can every year. Aside from the racing, I love Ligget and Sherwen and really dig the scenery. Do you think Froome can claw it back?

he could...some pretty nasty climbs tomorow tho could shake the order up a lot

I’m just glad he’s in it at all. Not because I like Froome all that much but because fuck Hinault and everyone else who wants to try people on the internet, rules be damned, and hooray for due process.

Especially when it threatens to remove your hands off a flat bar when they are already stressed trying to find a way to release enough grip to operate the brakes.
