It has been over 100 degrees every day since July 6, which is a run even for us.
[UPDATE]
Ahh.....
The wife and I are still planning to take the Sunchaser out this afternoon.
Right now, I am taking a break in the pool after a morning of Vespa wrenching.
I replaced broken plastic panels that cover the handlebars. I installed new panels that go above the rear wheel, but I discovered that the rear panel that covers the mudguard is cracked. And the new panel won’t hold without that one to hold in this quasi-tongue-in-groove setup it has. I also put in amber turn signals, and repaired the crash bars from where I...well...crashed. This last part went surprisingly well.
I did not get to the oil and filter change. It is too hot for that for now. Maybe later.
I just need to replace that plastic panel and buy a new headlight rim (mine is cracked), and then I move on to performance upgrades and perhaps steel body restore and paint. I only paid $1300 for this Vespa, and it looked bad and ran poorly when I got it. It is worth almost nothing, so I figure I can experiment with no risk.

Been in South Carolina since Wednesday. It’s been 90-100 all week. us northerners are not used to that type of heat

I feel pretty confident saying that is the only Vespa on the face of the Earth with a Suicidal Tendencies sticker.

Oh man, headed to Hollister tomorrow and then two days in Sonora. My thick northern blood is going to boil.

Unfortunately for me, at this point in summer pools are of little help. I jumped in a cold bath which was nice. The kids live seimming in bath water, though. However, it’s been cloudy and cool (for us), so I’ll take it.

Make sure to drive Rt 25. It’s fantastic and was completely empty when I drove it a few weeks ago.
