This was at a local cruise night. The owners were from Minnesota and came to Ohio via the UP of Michigan. They made the way to Dayton after a quick trip on a ferry to go to Put in Bay on Lake Erie.
From here they are headed to Charleston SC and Hilton Head, then Savannah, Baton Rouge and New Orleans, and finally to somewhere outside of Houston to visit their daughter.
They were basically going anywhere with a decent size Packard club in hopes of finding help if they needed it.

Hopefully I see them in Charleston in the next two days! I’ll be there autocrossing!

I doubt they’ ll be there yet this weekend. They are going to a special event at the American Packard Museum in Dayton tomorrow. Plus, they are driving state and US routes instead of interstates whenever possible.

That’s awesome! I have a dream about doing this in an old car myself - though it’s a big 1960s GM B or C body convertible in my case.

I’ve already told my wife that if I manage to have any extra money when I retire I want to buy a 50's era convertible and cruise US40 from one end to the other. Then hit Route 66 for what I can of the return trip.
Her response was “Have fun; I’ll see you when you get back.” I figure it’s better than a flat no.

I had another picture just for the tagline, but thanks to the how bright the sun was it was still unreadable.
It was “We cheat you right”

Ha! My wife has given me the OK to buy the car, I haven’t mentioned the road trip part - but she doesn’t like taking long drives in a modern car, so I know her answer will be the same as your wife’s - - at best.
