Any Oppos go to a chiropractor? I’m not a huge fan of pseudomedicine things, but it has helped before and I’m not looking to take medication if I don’t have to.
Last time I went was because I spent 3 consecutive days at a trampoline park with some pals practicing snowboard tricks, then could barely get out of bed on the morning of the 4th day. This time it’s from running (I think). I was running a lot from January until the b road street run in early May. Then I took a break, still working out but not running. I started running again about a month ago and thought I was taking it slow enough. My lower back has hurt so bad for the past week that I can’t stay in one position for more than a few minutes or sleep for long periods.
This is car/motorcycle related because it’s really nice today and I wanted to ride the Grom back from lunch. The Grom can make your back hurt on it’s own so I decided against it.
Happy Friday!

I’d debate checking out a Physical Therapist first. It could be that your muscles are out of wack. That is the issue with my shoulder. I had to get some work done to get some of my smaller muscles firing as my big muscles were doing all the world.

I personally recommend classical Pilates for back issues. I hate the chiro, but the last guy I went to kept “popping” what turned out to be a failed fusion, not a point that needed a pressure release. So I might not be the least judgmental person about all of it.

Ugh rough! I used to go to yoga a lot before I started running. Maybe I’ll have to get back to that. I have been stretching every chance I get which helps, but only for a while.

There’s a really good pilates/pole fitness studio down the street from me, but o hhhhhh the employees are so anti-male I was genuinely worried about getting maced the one time I went in. Wasn’t even solo, I wish with the Canadian pole sport national champion and even still they wouldn’t give me the time of day. There are a ton of other pilates studios, but that particular one has super late night classes which would have been awesome schedule-wise ...

Alternate answer: align your Chakra points via acupuncture needles made from your birthstone, while reciting the 5 harmonious h armonies beneath a full moon. For best results consult with your local oracle to gain a deeper understanding of the best type of i ncense to influence your spiritual healing nodes to release pressure.

I went to the chiro and left a changed man. I now perform lower back adjustments on myself many times per day.
My back had been bugging me for months and years and after that first adjustment, when I sat up, I felt more fluid than I really ever had. Dramatic difference.
There are a couple of different styles of administering the back adjustment. My guy would arrange me on my side on the edge of the table and put his knee on me and give me a pretty aggressive twist. That’s the methodology I recommend.
Now that I’ve been adjusting myself for some years, I’ve come to recognize exactly where in my back it needs to pop and I am seldom wrong about that.

Last time I went it was a similar outcome, instant relief. I usually can crack my back via a few accentuated stretches/yoga poses. Since this more severe pain started I haven’t been able to get it to pop. Not because it hurts but because it just won’t!

It works! I have been going for 3 months for my lower back problems and I have never felt better- Adjustments and Spinal decompression therapy. I was very skeptical for many years have been managing the pain through stretching rest exercises etc. but finally decided to do something about it.
Riding motorcycles, workouts that put stress on lower back and sitting in front of the computer all day contributed to this.

“ I have been going for 3 months”
This is the part that I’m trying to avoid. Chiropractors always try to get you on the gravy train. I went 6-8 times the last time my back hurt really bad and the pain was gone after the first visit but he recommended that I keep going back once per week then move to once per month. He’s a car guy and a fellow E46 M3 owner so I came kept going for a little while. Fo r the most part if I stretch/go to yoga/crack my back on my own I’m good it has been over 3 years since I’ve been to him.

Try a physiatrist, they’re real doctors who practice exactly what you're looking for and need.

Yuck. I used to take a class with some older guys and a woman my mom’s age and I miss how laid back it was, but that studio moved too far away. I feel like everyone now is into weird crap like jumpboard/cardiolates and I think it’s all very stupid.

Because it just won’t...
Probably locked up. The chiro’s help might be beneficial. That and lots of gentle movement. How old are you?

Is young. I think a trip to the chiro sound like it’s indicated. I’d like to learn
how it turns out.

I would consult a physical therapist first to get their opinion of the pain to see the route cause.
Alternatively, consider trying an at home TENS device. I have constant back issues and it can be the difference between three days layed up and at least loosening up enough to start doing some stretches.

When you work out are you focusing on your lats and g lutes? They help to stabilize your spine and can help remedy back pain over time. That said, I know a few people who have gone for adjustments every couple of months along with exercise which has helped rid them of back pain.
Also, how is your mattress? Is it new? Are you a side sleeper/back/stomach? All of these things play a factor in back health too.

Somewhat related how do you find the seats in your Ranger?
After 2 hours my back starts hurting. Y
ou’d think in a vehicle that designed for people to work out of all day would have better seats. After
14 hours, I was in pain for a week.

I’m better but the pain isn’t all the way gone. My neck was super jacked up. Going to get a massage and go to yoga a few times this week and see how it goes.

they don’t really bother me. My ranger is a fairly low milage example for an 01 (67000). I had an 87 years ago and those seats were horrible! Admittedly most of my trips in it are short, I've taken it on a few 3 hour rides without too much discomfort.

If I’m not running I do a circuit of squats lunges push-ups planks dips jumping jacks and back exercises. Mattres is a tempurpedic, 4-5 years old I move all over the place when I sleep but it’s the most comfortable place for my back

Could you feel more fluidity in your movement afterward? That’s the key thing. And probably several more visits to get straightened out. What is your age?

Try to focus a bit more on movements that target your glutes and lats specifically. Some kind of rowing, lat pull down, pull ups for your lats. Make sure you’re squatting ass to grass and try combination of Olympic squats , goblet squats and hack squats.

I’m 33. The rest of Saturday was actually my worst day pain wise. Sunday I felt a lot better. He said to come back once more then to come every once in a while to check in. So I’m going to go back on Friday for another adjustment.
I’m back to running at least 10 miles per week, this week is supposed to be my first with 15 or more. If it gets any worse than it was on Sat during this week , I’m going to go and see a real doc and maybe get an x ray to make sure there is nothing more serious going on.

Where in your back are you bothered? With me, it’s down lower.
Now that I’m adjusting myself many times per day, I am very much in tune with how my back feels and when I flop down on the floor to adjust, I can tell right where it needs to pop.

It’s low right above my buttcheeks on one side or the other. I can get it to crack now, but I’m not 100% One of my coworkers mentioned that I’m due for new shoes. They’re less than a year old but I’ve got around 400 miles on them, so I could just be slapping the ground with no support these days.

My feet are susceptible to
torsional
stress, think: wringing a dishrag. I do not buy shoes without a shank and I also buy inserts with arch support. If you have medical coverage, a trip to a podiatrist might be advised before you buy new shoes. He can advise you about what your feet do and what kind of
last
your shoes need to have.
