Being an IT guy puts you in some weird places sometimes. (Computer IT, not Clown IT. Had I seen clown IT I’d have shIT)

Just imagine being the only one in there, it's a mile long and you start hearing noises that you're not the one making.

That's much more close than I'd like. Also the paint peeling off the walls... Yikes

It used to be a prison, so I doubt they were too concerned.

This is a site inspection I wouldn’t want to do alone.

what / where is that?

I’m probably not allowed to be more specific, but it’s a utility corridor in a really old prison that’s being turned into a shopping center.

Could be worse, some buildings in NYC have at least several subcellars, they all got flooded out when sandy hit. A lot of the times all the circuits down there got fried so you dont even have lights. Just being alone in the dark with over 40, 000 sqft/ fl can really make you paranoid something is down there with you.

You should tell someone fix the lights or give me a raise. Obviously a raise is much cheaper.

I work on the engineering side of an MEP/IT/Security design and consulting firm. Its actually my job to fix these issues though I deal with the mechanical side. Luckily I only have to deal wit h spaces like that for surveys. T he building engineers however can sure have it r ough and sketchy.

Honestly, looks peaceful. I bet nobody can find you to pester you about a client issue. With any luck no cell reception either.

Definitely a cellular dead zone. Coincidentally I was tasked with making it not a cellular dead zone recently to which the need vs cost was brought into question. Spoiler: still a dead zone- go figure.
