Seen in my parking garage with paper tags . Not my car, not my raise. Oil is up, so are expenditures (my office building is primarily taken up by an oil company).

Pretty ass whip, if I do say so myself.

I saw one of these at the local dealer with around 35K in options - maybe the most loaded I have seen . I was there again a couple weeks later, it was gone - no surprise, although this area lacks oil money, it has plenty of both techbros and dirty offshore-sourced money floating around.

I suppose. That car is in a realm of automotivity that I cannot fathom. A two-year-old CTS-V, I can almost allow myself to wist for. But I run awash of other oppos’ automotive tastes because mine are so pragmatic .

Or a restored ‘96 Impala SS, or a Police Caprice...

Or maybe I’ll just get ‘71 project van on the road...

In certain parts of Texas, you can immediately tell how the oil industry is going by the local luxury industry. If there are suddenly more brand new MBs/Porsches/loaded  F-250 King Ranch trucks with paper tags driving around, bonuses are being paid.

I would much rather have a third gen CTS-V to this (considering I drive a second gen CTS now), but I can most definitely recognize a nice car when I see one.  My parking garage has several Hellcat Coupes, luxury trucks, some CTSes (in V6, Vsport, and V variations), and Teslas.  Definitely an eclectic grouping.

The Hellcats and Camaros these days make me yawn with their little gun slit windows. There’s my pragmatist again, but they just don’t look like any fun to ride in. And the backseats must be awful. I bet the CTS-Vs have plenty of Rousch-type aftermarket stuff if you want to be in the 700-800 hp range. But I should think I could get by with a stock copy.

Every now and again, I’ll see a CTS-V in traffic with a Hennessey package on it (the company’s HQ is less than an hour away), but otherwise the Vs are left stock.

I suppose it’s like bonus time on Wall Street, when all of the tamed supercars show up.

I work at a Wall Street firm and would like I get in on this bonus thing (we don’t have it in my department, not a M&A banker).

I think it might be a Manhattan thing - a friend of mine lives there, and has stories and sends me a pic now and then (McLarens seem to be the big thing these days among that brave set ).

I really need to get into oil money while we are in this upswing haha

Considering I paid for the M3 in oil bonus money, this is accurate.
