I still think the side vent should be body color (at least the outside trim).

If your car isn’t Korean why even drive

T he vent bothers me less than that red rectangle on the side. Is that a n ecessary part of the tailight? a reflector?
I think a black paint to hide the vent with a red beltline stripe to mask that re ar thing would do wonders for this.

Is this a real vent or just for looks?

Yes.
But, yes.

I think the fake vents on the bonnet
should be removed and exactly as you say, less colour contrast please!

As an automotive aerodynamicist, I think that image is a lie and the air behind the wheel isn’t doing what they say it is...

Found it on the Stinger forum. Looks like some comments are saying the same thing. What do I know? I am not a rocket surgeon

Side reflectors are a mandatory safety requirement. Most new cars have a single wrap-around unit that covers the rear and side, with reflectors/lights/etc.
KIA seem to have
chosen
to have a sepa
rate reflector extend from the rear-facing
light assembly
.
This was pointed out in a design study by Automobile Magazine....and they seem to agree with you.

I don’t know how the air flows, but plenty of owners are installing screens on the hole in the back of the wheel well to stop all the crap coming out on their doors.

It is real in the sense that it exists, and there are actual holes. Is it real in the sense that it actually functionally helps some kind of performance metric? Who knows!

I guess I should have realized that was the side reflector. It still bugs me that they didn’t make it flow with the body lines. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to yell at some kids on my lawn.

Could be a door handle!

A t least Tesla angled the front and rear of the handles to give it some style.

They’re seeing muck that’s thrown off the tires, not carried through by the imaginary blue lines :)

I thought you were inferring that there wasn’t an actual vent between the wheel well and the side panel. I’m not defending the neon blue ‘ airflow’ or the design, just confirming there was an actual hole inside the well (it would not have surprised me if there wasn’t one!).
