He absolutely should lose his drive, IMO. But if his is a paid seat, it makes it more difficult for Haas. If Haas do cut him lose, I doubt anybody will pick him up.

I know exactly what that means. I am a professional trumpet player, and my son is doing the TX high school band now. I know there is also a MS band director on Oppo ( Shour ). Small world!

Tell me about it. I was in HS band in VA back in the early 80s. Our band had maybe 100 people in it. When I went to grad school in TX and started private teaching, t hat was a real eye opener. In VA, only the drum corps were fanatical. In TX, everybody is fanatical. My son has two weeks of all-day practices before school even starts, alternating between 8-hour days and 12-hour days. Then there are after school practices for three hours three days a week, then some sort of contest every weekend into November. It’s nuts. But he enjoys it.

I have a coworker who has made a couple comments about latinos speaking spanish and not assimilating. Meanwhile he drives around with a 3" Italian flag badge on his car.
