The sign read “4x4 high clearance only”... Fuck it I can straddle anything.
At one point I was sitting in the car exploring options on the map when a family came up on their ATVs. “Mister,
are you lost??” asked the father through his
helmet with great concern. “No, n
o I am f
ound” a said with huge grin “I am found”. Moments later I was crossing a stream with them.... it was about 4 inches deep and 15 feet across
but... there I was a M
iata following along with a group of 4 ATVs out in the wild. It was meant to be.
When a group of three jeeps pass me, they look surprised. But not nearly as fun as the deflated looks of shock as when I pass them. It’s supposed to be their country... No fair as they lumber along weight shifting slowly on fat tires and I’m gone with a slight drift of the ass around the next bend in the road.

This was the road. At many times it seems like it was only a few feet wider than the car with great cliffs to one side... or sometimes both

That looks like a fun one. I definitely found a few fun ones myself in Colorado last week!

Mount Herman road west of Monument.... north a bit of Colorado Springs. Start from a place called Divide. I basically just drive around looking for windy roads that have an outlet and see what happens.
Hard rain at one point came out of no where.
Pro tip
: when a car passes you and hits a puddle while the top and windows are down, the INSIDE of the windshield is NOT cleared by the wipers, which is why you can’t see.

Already found it on the map, too bad I’m already North of lake Tahoe.
What’s a “windshield”?
This was off to the side of a very rocky canyon road outside of Vegas. Very easily would've punched holes in many cars' oil pans.

Lol soft sand is the only trouble I have. I have a scorpion trail tire on the front. Had one in the rear, but I wore it out on this trip and had to get a new one in Vegas. All they had in my size was a rosso 3. Which so far is much better than the rosso 2, but I would prefer the scorpion. Honestly the suspension is more trouble than the tires, too stiff. But I’ve probably got bare minimum 200 miles on some pretty nasty rocky gravel roads/trails this trip. You can’t do it super fast and you have to work it a little , but it’ll do it surprisingly well.
