100% unfinished and confirmed defect by the manufacturer. I did 3 others before being unpleasantly surprised by this stubborn rod, only to realize I was the stubborn one

The issue is they used the wrong filter. Same thread. Different width mating area. So it was only holding on with half the gasket.

...this truck just left the shop this morning. So the mechanic that “fixed” the truck learned his lesson on properly tying up hoses and cables

02 Hyundai Elantra... The car had oil leaks for a long time so subframe was just starting to have soft spots. Unfortunately, that oil leak didn’t reach the control arms lol

update: the frame was in fact bent. funny thing is, it appears to be a southern truck as the frame was in pretty good shape, just bent.
I figured it would have been rusted out... Michigan really need safety inspections

“Can’t you just” is like my pet peeve-fingernails on the chalkboard saying my wife loves to use.

I’m a full time mechanic/ racer. When I describe what I have to fix-fully knowing from a lifetime of experience-the best line of attack making the best use of time+ money—t he wife feels like she is helping if she add he thought on how to fix the problem.

“Y our Audi has a broken exhaust stud. I can’t reach it well without removing a few things-and other exhaus t things will end up needing to be....”’

“ Can’t you JUST change the engine? Or JUST change the cylinder head?”

“Nice -you have one? Where am gonna find one? “

“I dunno- JUST go buy one”.

“How long does it take to JUST change an engine?!?!”

“It’s ONLY an engine-how long can it take? Why are you getting mad at me?!? ”

I’ve asked my Snap-On guy if he has one of those magic “JUST” wrenches....

I once saw a lower control arm just sitting in a lane on the freeway. I saw zero ensuing chaos on that road, which was confusing, cause cars usually need those things to continue driving.

50 lb-inches is only a hair over 4 lb-feet. If your wrist isn’t strong enough to put out 4 lb-ft, then you might want to pursue a different hobby.
