July 7th, despite being only 26, I joined the rows of old men in lawn chairs and took my truck to its first show. I guarantee you there are things here you don’t see at your standard show and shine. Some awesome big rigs if that’s your thing. I hope everyone enjoys the photos!

The Bear

My favorite feature was this !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . 1 of 75 in existence, made in Vancouver. It towers above the 60's Kenworth next to it. These were made in Vancouver, but ended up closing up shop in 1975.

It has one of the best logos ever and the logo is EVERYWHERE on it. I wish more cars/trucks had menacing loping bears or whatever.

Those Hayes logging trucks are super badass. Even the company’s more “normal” on-highway trucks were ridiculously cool.

Shame they were bought out and gutted by PACCAR in the seventies. We could’ve had a real and proper Canadian truck manufacturer. Since Western Star moved out of Kelowna there aren’t really any.

Also, it’s super weird seeing a Mercury badge on a semi truck.

OK, that Jeep Gladiator is MINT.

Also that old bulldozer is awesome, and I love the Daihatsu Midget, although not a fan of the weird Star Wars stuff all over it (don’t get me wrong, I like Star Wars!)...

The owner of the Gladiator drives a Grand Wagoneer as a DD and has some other choice jeeps.  All in fantastic condition.  He’s like rich David Tracy

I wonder if any of them want to buy a couple vintage Mack rear ends or a rebuilt with 0 mile Peterbilt transmission... got some stuff laying around.

It’s a Dodge Rampage.  Pretty rare car, first time I’d ever seen one in real life.  Sadly, its FWD and is pretty gutless.

If I went to something like that, I’d irritate the piss out of everyone asking them to pop the hoods. what can I say, I’m an engine guy. given the ages, there had to have been at least a couple of two-strokes there.

I don’t think it irritates anyone. My goal for the truck is to share it with everyone. When someone was looking at it, I’d say, hop in, check it out.

People are there to show what they have.  If they don’t want to talk about it or share it with the public, they should go home.

One of the newer(?) BleepinJeep guys is cleaning up a Gladiator, which yay, but putting in stacks, which makes me want to commit a n act of violence.
