For the last few years, our family has taken a long trip to see the country. Leaving from Austin, we've gone to the East Coast, upper Midwest, Great Plains, San Diego and Grand Canyon. This summer it was South Dakota, 3,600 miles round trip. My boys have become good travelers, and I hope they catch the bug and do the same with their families one day.

my family road trips are nothing like that :(
rule 1 of road trip... do not promise ice cream unless you want to hear various methods of when is icecream happening every minute of the trip.
rule 2 of road trip.. accept that your daughter hates your car coz it doesnt have wifi
rule 3 of road trip... be sure to point out places you could have got icecream as they dissapear in the rear view :)
i need to buy a new car..... i want a road trip now

So awesome that his daughter kept pointing at Jeeps thinking they were the same car. Jeeps come in all shapes/sizes/brands.
My kids are seasoned road warriors. To be honest, cars are pretty far down on the list of things I hope they come to appreciate from our adventures.
