This time, it’s about ze pushbars. I’ve sanded the horizontal metal bars on the Setina PB400 pushbars using 250 grit on a powersander, and did accidentally go down to the metal surface in places. But that’s OK — this is an experiment to see how the new paint would look on Killer Queen .
Right now, it’s curing on my balcony, and I plan to sand down that finger smudge on the upper bar and give it a quick blast of fresh basecoat before I give it a clear coat by midday tomorrow. Then it’ll be mounted on the Queen by Sunday to see how it looks.
If I like it, I’m going to try to convince Setina to factory-paint my brand new PB400 in this color. Here’s hoping.

I’m not sure how I feel about pushbars in that more of a metallic-but-more-matte silver. I suppose it’s because I’m used to them all being painted with a ton of flat black paint that you can just spray back on after an encounter of the kinetic kind.
