I am in need of a cheap o scilloscope to read crankshaft sensor signals on the 944. Amazon and eBay have a couple of sub-$100 options. (Hantek 6022BE or SainSmart DS O202) . I don’t want to go used and I’ll probably use this once in a blue moon once I solve my current problem. Anyone have any recommendations?

Beg, borrow, or steal?
Barring that, Amazon has quite a few hobbiest scopes for under $100. I know nothing about this one , but as it is also a DMM it seems like something you’d use later on.

Buy it, use it, and then return it. I do that fairly regularly at Harbor Freight for shit I’ll never use again. I’m not a great person.

I saw that one , but it only has one channel. I could see a scenario where having two would be nice (input from the sensors and output to the coil or injectors) . Still, it’s an option.

Any chance there’s a local electronics hobbyist group around? One of the members might assist you if you bring your car to their scope.

Therein lies the rub. I’m chasing a no- start condition. I’ve replaced and adjusted the sensors, but I am not getting any indication that the DME is reading them, so I want to verify the amplitude/frequency. This one has me really perplexed.

Honestly used isn’t that sketchy. You’d be surprised what you can get used. I’m looking for ~$300 used Keysights, which are an incredi ble deal. No probes usually, though.
