This seems like a good idea. Get a flat, then j ust pull over on the next cross street block both lanes of traffic and change the tire right there . For reference the road he pulled off if is the main road through town.

I only remember having to change a tire on the side of the road once. I hope I can keep that streak alive.

I’ve done it on an interstate highway, in the rain, twice. 0/10 would not recommend at ALL.

Hey - he can’t help where the tire went flat, ya know?

The only time I had to change one I was 13ish with my Mom on the side of the interstate. I clearly remember it sucking.

That makes some sense.

I really should have, I just kind of went with someone that dumb probably can't properly place the Jack and gravity would probably teach him a valuable lesson.

You have a legitimate point.

If he were to, say, drive another 50 feet to get the car out of the way, on a flat tire, there’s a good chance it would have caught on fire or exploded.

Having semis drive by you at 65 while the car is up in the air, causing it to shake a bit, is not a fun experience.

Literally everyone could have died, I should have stopped and thanked him for not ending the existence of the entire human race.

I have come to realize that entirely too many people just live in their own world and don't really give a damn about how they effect other people's lives.

Seriously - how generous of him to do it right in the middle of the street, and apparently on the steepest slope he could find, too.

Reminds me of this new Japanese word I learned this week: Meiwaku . This is a great example of exactly that.

For about 4 seconds I really did think about helping, even with the potential for a car hitting it. The slope put me over the edge, I didn't want a cop explaining to my wife that a Ford Escape fell on me and killed me.

Maybe if you had led with “Hey I’ll help you but you gotta move the car so you don’t kill yourself, ok?”

Wow, that pretty much sums it up.
Like that poster was saying, t here’s nothing wrong with individuality but it gets to a point where shit like this happens. I am sure mos t Americans think this annoying, but would probably do i t themselves.

Yes, we all know that the steeper the hill, the sturdier the jack will be!
Simple physics! you see, people seem to always think torque formula uses a Sine function but it is actually a cosine!
