It’s not exactly common. Just looking for make/model, bonus points for trim level. And no, I was not working on it. I don’t have the skill or knowledge for this beautiful piece of machinery. WILLIAMSSW AND COBRAJOE GOT IT AT THE SAME TIME! ALFA MILANO! VERDE EVEN!

based on the brakes, I would guess XJS.

Didn’t Alfa use inboard brakes on a few cars?

Beautiful piece of machinery with inboard brakes?

AWD..... twist beam rear axle with watt’s link... INBOARD rear discs... WTF?
Oil pan looks Renault-ish... now that that pic finally loaded... wait IS it AWD?

Alfa Romeo Milano?
Inboard brakes, DeDion rear suspension, watts linkage, trans axle... Those are all oddball components, and a Milano looks about the right age and price for something so used and yet using so much aluminum.

That there is a Turbo-Encabulator, son. Yes sireee.

Inboard brakes and that oil pan... gotta be an Alfa. Only one I’ve seen like that was a Formula 3 car though so... not sure on the model. Alfasud maybe?

Nice try though! I think you were the first to consider Alfa
![]() 06/19/2018 at 15:39 |

Thought so! The suspension setup and transaxle made me think of it, the wheels made me pretty sure.
![]() 06/19/2018 at 15:40 |

Well, I was only mostly wrong. Wiki says it had inboard drum brakes.

Lotus?
![]() 06/19/2018 at 15:42 |

it was the DiDion suspension and rear drive that got me.
![]() 06/19/2018 at 15:43 |

I was wondering if anyone would notice the wheels

Tricky part, the thing up front isn’t actually an oil pan, it’s a HV battery!

Your prize was going to be the actual car, but sadly it turned to dust when trying to load it on a truck. Nothing left.
![]() 06/19/2018 at 15:48 |

Well damn, looked alfa like but my guess was way off.

Dust? Or ashes??
![]() 06/19/2018 at 17:11 |

They jumped out at me in the 1st picture - not that common of a hole pattern.
![]() 06/19/2018 at 18:01 |

Possibly! The owner of this car would know. He worked on them back in the day!

Ashes
![]() 06/19/2018 at 18:03 |

True. But with that lighting and from that angle could easily be mistaken for a steely.

The 75/Milano is to some extent just a comprehensive facelift of the 70s Nuova Giulietta - itself an Alfetta saloon
(Sports Saloon
in the US) with a sportier, younger appearance.
Alfa Romeo also found a way to freshen up the Alfetta but in a much more conservative manner: that was the 90, a Gandini design that unfortunately did not last long in the market.
Both 75/Milano and 90 received as top-of-the-range the fabulous Busso V6. (Alfettas and Giuliettas never did but it is a fairly easy swap.)
The Alfetta GT/GTV/GTV6 coupés (actually 2-door fastbacks with a hatch, but well) were based on a shortened Alfetta floorpan; the very latest GTV2000 and GTV6, conversely, where based on a shortened 75/Milano floorpan.
They all share the same platform, suspension and De Dion layout.

Super late! Alfa Milana Verde.

That looks like a stupid design for brakes that isn’t worth the weight reduction at the wheels given the trouble it causes when it comes time for service.
Not surprised it’s something like an old Alfa.
