RCR reviewed my Stinger. AMA
![]() 06/11/2018 at 21:36 |

I shall let our other resident Stinger GT owner know. Gimme a sec.

Oh he knows we are talking in his thread too!
![]() 06/11/2018 at 21:38 |

Yeah he just texted me back. It’s all good.

I must say. I hate the Carbon fibre texture my car has, but I prefer the hiding cupholders. if I could have it in Aluminium or wood it’d be awesome

Is Mr. Regular a regular guy?
![]() 06/11/2018 at 21:41 |
|
They sell a kit for our USDM cars to cover the cupholders with my trim so I need to get around to that.

He’s something, this is the second time I’ve met him. I was also in one of his RCR car meet videos with my E46. Roman is awesome too and they were both a blast to film with, along with the demon owner.

Does it really “handle like an M3"?
![]() 06/11/2018 at 21:49 |
|
Yes, the aluminium trim is very nice. it is also harder to scratch and less gaudy!
![]() 06/11/2018 at 21:51 |
|
Like my old E46, yes.
![]() 06/11/2018 at 21:51 |

Exactly!

What tires does your car have?
![]() 06/11/2018 at 22:03 |
|
Potenza R970 All seaons
![]() 06/11/2018 at 22:04 |
|
I need to get myself a set of All Seasons, these contis spin on wet tarmac as if they were bald.
I was thinking about going wider, but I fear for fuel economy.
![]() 06/11/2018 at 22:09 |
|
If I tune the car and do exhaust a plan on picking up a set of summer 19" wheels, and then doing true winters on the stock 18"

howd you know yours was the only one in so and so area? he didnt seem to believe you?
also, is that a kia?
![]() 06/11/2018 at 22:14 |
|
It is a kia. Also I am a salesperson with a dealer group that has Kia so I can see sales figures for all dealers in the area, at time of filming I had the only GT in my area, however now we have sold a few more.

I want to pick up a set of 2.0T rims too. But it’s kind of unnecessary... plus I don’t know if the Brembo calipers fit inside the 18 inchers.
Though it would let me have more sidewall, which is good given how monstrous Mexico City is to rims.
![]() 06/11/2018 at 22:34 |
|
I have 18 inch rims on mine, however they are the GT rims so I’m not sure how the 2.0 rims fit.

Good lord, I think that was the most positive review RCR has done. Obviously it’s not that easy to tell because it’s not like the guy assigns a score but he was pretty freaking profuse about how much he liked that car.
Do you ever use the paddles and manual mode?
Does the front sensor thing in the grille ever drive you crazy?
![]() 06/11/2018 at 22:39 |
|
Honestly the front park assist is great in parking lots, and the transmission is programmed well enough that I rarely use the paddles.
![]() 06/11/2018 at 22:43 |

18" GT rims?
What rear width are you running?
![]() 06/11/2018 at 22:44 |
|
255 I believe
![]() 06/11/2018 at 22:46 |
|
Are you sure those are 18"s? I thought the GT only came with 19s in a staggered setup (225 fronts, 255 rears)
![]() 06/11/2018 at 22:52 |
|
They are 18" however I may be wrong and they may 225 square but I’m too lazy to walk out and check

I was talking to an guy on the cruise I went on recently and I told him I was a car guy. He said he had something to tell me I would appreciate. He told me he traded in his WRX STi, because it was too rough and sports car-like (he was an older guy, ~50), for a new car that went “buzz-buzz”. I racked my brain and immediately said, “oh shit, you got a Stinger?” He was excited I guessed correctly and started absolutely fawning over it for the next 15 minutes. The handling, the ride quality, everything.
